LOWELL — It’s Tuesday night. The Good Times series is about 30 minutes from staging another race along the Merrimack River.
So it must be raining. I ran in last week’s race and it rained the entire time. After the race, race director Dave Camire was soaked from head to toe after a couple of trips to his car.
Despite it raining nearly every Tuesday night for the last month, the numbers for the series are incredible. Last week’s race attracted about 280 runners. The series, the largest weekly one in the United States, has reached more than 400 runners earlier this spring.
No doubt some won’t run because of the weather. But once your feet are wet, what difference does it make? Here’s hoping Camire receives a sunny Tuesday night next week.
